About Full Cup Wellness

Women’s mental well-being is at the heart…

Mission: to ensure you have the highest quality therapeutic support possible to heal, find your voice, rise to reach your highest potential, and ultimately create a life you love.

Even as “modern” women, we continue to face unique challenges. We are often called upon to cope with stressors such as balancing a career, parenting, and caring for aging parents.

We feel the responsibility of monitoring the health of others and our relationships, thereby taking care of everyone else and neglecting our own needs.

We’re still dealing with gender discrimination and sexual harassment in the workplace.

We struggle with low self-esteem, poor body image, and even eating disorders in part due to unrealistic cultural and media standards for women’s appearance. And let’s not forget the medical and psychological issues such as postpartum depression or anxiety, the pain of infertility or pregnancy loss, aging, and the hormonal roller coaster of menstrual cycles and menopause.

Now, I do not know about you, but when I was growing up, no one sat down and taught me how to manage and cope with all of this emotionally. We may have been told that we can “do it all” and not limit ourselves, but this well-meaning advice didn’t come with an instruction book. And so, we have extremely high expectations of ourselves to “do it all” and a simultaneous fear that we’re the only one who can’t seem to keep it all together.

We feel guilty, ashamed, overwhelmed, hurt, and simply not enough.

You genuinely want change…

But habitual patterns, hurtful experiences, and unhelpful beliefs have gotten in the way.

You had to figure life out on your own, and you did the best you could with what you knew. Without a roadmap to guide you, you resiliently developed certain defense mechanisms to get through the tough stuff. These behaviors may have once served you well, but now they’re wreaking all kinds of havoc in your life. Maybe food became your comfort, or you just became overly focused on pleasing other people to meet your needs.

I know, I know: You pride yourself on your independence, and you think you “shouldn’t” need a therapist to change. After all, you’ve come this far just grinning and bearing it. But consider this: “Shoulding” yourself might be part of what’s actually keeping you stuck.

You don’t have to figure this stuff out on your own anymore, and actually, you were never meant to. The reality is that most of us became overly independent because no one could help with our fears. Well-meaning encouragement such as “You’re going to be fine” or “You shouldn’t feel that way” led to questioning your own reality and hesitancy to ask for any more help.

Discovering your true self…

The old strategies aren’t working anymore.

You’re anxious, depressed, angry, tense, and tired of feeling this way. To put it plainly, it feels like you’re breaking down and losing control.

My friend, I have some good news for you! This is exactly what happens when we’re on the impetus of a massive transformation and completely expected. You’re right where you’re supposed to be! You’re on the verge of awakening to your true self, discovering your needs and how to meet them, knowing your strengths and values and living them out, and learning how to better care for yourself.

You were meant for a better life…

… a life of passion, purpose, fulfillment, and deep connection with others!

But as women, this isn’t always what we were taught.

Growing up, you may have received direct or indirect messages that you needed to suppress your true self to be accepted by others. And you did, of course, because we all need acceptance.

But here’s the truth: The path to creating a life you love involves self-acceptance. If our body and mind are the cups from which we pour out to others, we need to fill ourselves first.

Do you have a deep, unceasing desire for more out of life?

Are you tired of just surviving day after day, knowing there must be another way?

Have you had enough of the superficiality, the striving for a Pinterest-perfect life, the people-pleasing, and the just never feeling good enough?

Have you researched and tried “all the things” to feel better, but you keep falling back into the same old patterns?

Are you ready to take a break from the hustle of life and invest in yourself?
