IN-PERSON THERAPY

Roseville, California

✦ Voted Best Mental Health Professional in Roseville | 2020 – 2026 ✦

Why I’m the therapist for you

Because I’ve been there.

I’m a woman, a business owner, a wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend.

I know firsthand the demands on modern women to balance family, career, household, and personal obligations.

I know what it feels like to run yourself into the ground and question whether you’re doing enough or making the “right” choice.

And I also know that it is possible to reconnect with
yourself – and create a life that truly feels like yours.

How I became a therapist…

I have always been very curious about people, seeking to learn as much as I could to understand them better. I realized that If I could make sense of their ways, I could have empathy for them. Little did I know that I would come to discover and know myself in my quest to understand others better.

Prioritizing my own mental health and choosing to live with intention and connection to my own truth brought me a peace I had never known before. Having experienced healing through my own therapy journey only furthered my love for psychology and inspired me to help others find the same freedom.

I’m grateful for every single moment of my life, as difficult as many of them have been, because they led me to you. I’ve been there, I see you, and I want to help.

I am excited to share what I’ve learned with you and honored to be a part of your healing journey, too.

Here’s how we’ll work together…

Creating a safe haven for you to feel at ease is my first priority. I am a therapist who listens with genuine presence and asks thoughtful questions to help you find your inner truth.

My style is warm, calm, approachable, gentle, and collaborative. I’m not a fast-paced, advice-giving therapist, but I do give direct and honest feedback.

I like to go deeper while balancing acceptance and change. While sincerely validating your emotions and experiences, I will gently orient you toward the changes you want to see in your life.

I tend to conceptualize cases from a more psychodynamic perspective, taking into consideration attachment patterns, early life experiences, and relationships histories. My therapeutic tool bag is vast, and I believe in customized treatment because what may work for you may not work for someone else and vice versa. I often weave in interventions from Emotion-Focused Individual Therapy (EFiT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Together, we will give voice to your goals and dreams and develop a unique plan to create a life you love.

Some of my professional experience…

For more than 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside people through some of life’s most difficult seasons. My training has given me experience across nearly every level of mental health care, but more importantly, it has taught me that every person has a story worth understanding, and that lasting change begins with feeling truly seen.

I’ve worked in community mental health, psychiatric hospitals, eating disorder treatment, schools, residential programs for high-risk teens, emergency shelters, and on a military base. I also taught undergraduate psychology courses as an adjunct professor, served as a mental health consultant to local businesses and supervised predoctoral interns and postdoctoral fellows.

Each of these experiences shaped the psychologist I am today. They strengthened my clinical knowledge but they also taught me that healing rarely follows a straight path. Every woman who sits across from me brings a unique story, and my role is to help her make sense of it, while walking alongside her as she creates a life that feels more authentic and more of her own.

In 2015, I opened my practice to provide thoughtful, individualized care of the highest quality because my clients deserve it. More than a decade later, I remain grateful and honored to get to do this work.

When I’m not doing therapy…

I love what I do, but I also know that I’m at my best when balancing it with passions outside of work.

Connecting with my husband on our weekly coffee date, along with time spent with my two incredible young adult daughters is what fills my cup.

Having grown up on a Hawaiian island, my happy place is near the water. We frequently take trips up to Lake Tahoe or anywhere along the coast and enjoy being in the great outdoors. In my me-time, I love yoga and barre classes, curling up with a book, taking my dog for walks, and best of all, eating warm brownies or frozen yogurt.

I know you’ve done everything you could think of to fix this situation.

But what if the missing piece is that you’re trying to do it alone? I’m ready to figure this out with you.

Let’s chat. Call: (916) 705-2896 or email: hello@fullcupwellness.com
